5 items to complete your ensemble

We recommend the 5 must-haves in your daily wardrobe, to complete your look.

Dressing up feels like such hard work, doesn’t it? Apart from wearing age- and shape-appropriate clothing, one must also accessorise properly to look their best. You can go really wrong with accessories, but not if you have these 5 items on yourself every day:
  1. A scarf or stole. A scarf draped around the neck, or a stole left loose around the shoulders can complement your outfit. Besides, there are several ways to drape the scarf around your neck, and you can even knot a stole just under your collarbone to add an elegant twist to your ensemble. Try solid colours like indigo and magenta to offset a plain grey or black outfit.
  2. Laptop bag. Everybody carries a laptop to and from the office, but it’s high time you ditched that ungainly backpack to hold your laptop. Not only does it make you look frumpy, the backpack limits your clothing choices as well. There are some really classy options in designer laptop bags that are available in a variety of materials, patterns and colours. Both men and women can look out for laptop bags online, and make a statement with the newest designs.
  3. A stylish wallet. Your wallet holds your cards, cash and other odds and ends, and it is one of the most-used items in your ensemble. It is also one of the most visible accessories – and yet, very few of us pay attention to how frayed our wallets and purses look after a while. Get a really fashionable wallet online, and whip it out in style to admiring glances. Your fashion wallet can say a lot of things about you, so keep it trendy!
  4. Black leather shoes. Your clothes are perfect, hair coiffed to brilliance, the perfume just right and your skin glowing with health. Now take a quick peek at your feet – are your shoes doing your look justice? We agree that it can get really tough getting shoes to match every outfit, so let’s simplify matters – get a couple of pairs of black leather brogues or high heeled pumps, and be done with it. They match with every outfit and are the safest choice.
  5. A metal watch. Your look would not be complete without a stunning watch adorning your wrist. You might be left confused with the type of watch to pick – metal finish, coloured dials, chronographs, canvas straps, coloured rubber straps…so just pick a metal finish watch in black or silver and simplify matters. Like black leather shoes, a metallic watch in black or silver matches practically every outfit and occasion.

10 things you didn’t know about the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

If you are the proud owner of an iPhone 7 or the iPhone 7 Plus, you must already know all about how it works and what’s so great about it. But if you’re still wondering whether to get the phone, here’s a guide to help you make your decision:

  1. It looks like earlier iPhones. In terms of looks, Apple tinkered around only with colour (you get a glossy jet black, and now a matte black). The rest of the phone’s structure looks almost the same as the iPhone 6 – you would really have to go over the phone really carefully to find any notable differences. This is good news for old iPhone users.
  2. Not just waterproof, also dust proof. The biggest benefit of owning the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is that you could drop the phones in water and not have anything happen to it. While other expensive Android brands have also tried out waterproof variations, none come as close to the iPhone 7’s performance. Apple has introduced really strong seals inside the phone, so that the inner machinery is protected. This tight seal also keeps dust out.
  3. No jack, but a superfast adapter. Legions of iPhone users squawked at the absence of the iPhone jack, but Apple stuck to the design anyway. However, it has provided users of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with a lightning fast adapter. You can also use Bluetooth buds instead of the adapter, or AirPods (but these look like bunny ears and are not very popular).
  4. 256GB of internal space! The earlier iPhone had up to 16 GB of internal space, but now the base level storage has been upgraded to 32GB. Other variations are 128 GB and a really high 256 GB – this last is even higher than Apple’s MacBooks!
  5. The most powerful processor in the world. Apple has incorporated its most powerful processor in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. But the A10 processor is possibly the world’s most powerful, across devices – its dual performance cores are over 40% faster than those in the iPhone 6s Plus. Plus, it is power-efficient as well.
  6. The finest camera till date. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus’s optical image stabilisation feature gives the best photographs and videos, with its wider f/1.8 aperture, TrueTone, four LEDs to make darker pictures more visible, and anti-flicker to take great pictures in artificial light.
  7. Great zoom, too. The iPhone 7 Plus has an extra 56mm telephoto lens, larger than the 28mm lens. The improved zoom offers more depth of coverage, and this extra lens gives greater anti-shake. You can also get up to 10x zoom with the same clarity.
  8. Longer battery life. Apple has always been nebulous about its exact battery specifications, so we’re guessing when we say that the battery in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus lasts about two hours longer than the iPhone 6s Plus. We estimate that it’s above 3500mAh – but we’re just guessing!
  9. Super sensitive Home button. There was talk of Apple ditching the Home button altogether, but that hasn’t happened so far. In fact, the Home button in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is a seriously cool piece of hardware, that is highly responsive to pressure and it adjusts its feedback accordingly. It also customises notifications and apps.
  10. More depth of colour. Both phones’ screens have been upgraded to give a better display, more saturation and vivid colours.
May we urge you to buy your iPhone 7 from an authorised Apple store in your region? They are sure to have genuine Apple products at the price you desire. And if you want to understand your phone’s working, or require a software upgrade or even repairs, be sure to go to an authorised iPhone service center only.
